Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to seeing all the students next week! There are a few things I need to make you aware of.   With all of these things, I ask for your patience and understanding as we all learn how to navigate through the limitations.
We will send home Monday in student folders, a daily recording sheet for families to do at home. Each day you should consider these questions and do your check temperatures before they ever board the bus or get in the car to come to school.    Remember masks must be worn on the bus, any time a student is in the hallways and whenever 6 ft. of distancing cannot be maintained.
Morning car riders- Please do not exit the car until a staff member is there.  Students will not be allowed in the building before 7:38 and our temperature stations are operable.  We will not be able to help unbuckle students in car seats etc.  This process could take longer than usual.  Do not go through the bus lane of the school.
Dismissal at 2:25- we will board buses from the back to the front starting with the older students. This means fifth graders will come out of school first.  If you are waiting in the car rider line, you may have to circle around if you also have younger students that would be coming out a few minutes later.  We will do our best to see how this process is going to run but we also may elect to change the pick-up time for car riders if it becomes too complicated. I will be in touch with you if that needs to happen.
Students will bring home a “home-to school folder” each day with the necessary paperwork/ student work or information that you may need.  This is going to be done daily in each class and NOT being sent on Wednesdays as has been the practice in the past.  The variety in the student schedules does not permit us to do one specific day a week for folders anymore.
Also, any student refusing to wear a mask can result in a change in their learning environment. They would become a 100% remote student due to the safety concerns this presents for everyone!
Students are eligible to preorder meals on remote learning days or days when your child is not in school with the BCPS Nutrition Plan. Meals can be picked up daily at ERES (for elementary, middle or high school students) if they are preordered by Sunday for the upcoming week.  Meals will be charged to the student accounts so please remember to pick up your pre-ordered meals.  You can pick up meals between 11:30am -12:30pm at the side Kitchen door (closest to the dumpsters). You will need to come to the door and ring the bell to have your meals brought out to you. More information and the link to preorder is available on the BCPS website under Nutrition then menus.
You can also apply money to your child’s lunch account online at My School Bucks, see BCPS webpage under Nutrition Department for the link etc.
